Conakry Industrial Group Positioning

- BRANDING AND COMMUNICATIONS
POSITION clarified the market role of a Guinean industrial group, establishing a commercial narrative and portfolio architecture that supported procurement, partnerships and expansion.
The challenge
The group had developed several operating businesses, but its external presentation did not explain how their capabilities related or where group-level accountability sat. Prospective customers encountered broad claims that obscured specific delivery experience. Individual units described similar services differently, complicating procurement conversations. Leadership needed a position that made the enterprise easier to evaluate without suggesting that every subsidiary offered the same capabilities or operated in every market.
Our approach
POSITION interviewed commercial and operational leaders, reviewed tender materials and mapped the evidence supporting each service proposition. The team defined the group promise, business-unit roles and rules for presenting shared capabilities. Messaging distinguished established delivery experience from strategic ambition. A practical narrative framework covered procurement responses, partner introductions and leadership communications, supported by an evidence library and approval responsibilities for claims about sectors, markets and project experience.
The result
The group gained a clearer commercial identity that explained both collective strength and operating boundaries. Business units could present their services within a consistent architecture while retaining relevant technical distinctions. Procurement and partnership materials drew on the same approved evidence, making the enterprise easier to assess. The positioning framework also gave leadership a basis for incorporating future ventures without repeatedly redefining the meaning of the group.
Outcomes
- Clear group and business-unit roles
