INNOVATE developed Dream West Africa OS as the group's enterprise operating system, connecting mandates, work allocation, finance, reporting and accountability across disciplines.
The challenge
A multidisciplinary group needed more than separate task boards and financial spreadsheets. Mandates crossed discipline boundaries, but approvals, ownership and reporting were not consistently attached to the same operational records. Leadership required visibility without bypassing delivery teams, while sensitive commercial and personnel information needed controlled access. The system also had to accommodate different project types without forcing property operations, advisory engagements and community programmes into identical workflows.
Our approach
INNOVATE designed a shared operating model around entities, mandates, work packages, responsibilities and approval states. Role-based permissions, audit histories and configurable workflows supported controlled delegation across disciplines. Finance records were connected to delivery context through budgets, commitments and review queues, with reporting drawn from governed records. Integration boundaries kept specialised applications, including the Peak Hills resident platform, distinct from the group-wide system of oversight and accountability.
The result
Dream West Africa OS established a common operational backbone for assigning work, reviewing financial context and tracking responsibility across the group. Teams retained discipline-specific delivery processes while leadership gained consistent reporting structures. Approval histories and linked records made it easier to understand who acted, what remained outstanding and where intervention was required. Specialist customer-facing platforms continued to serve their users without becoming substitutes for enterprise governance.
